How is it so, that there's gold in them hills How is it so, that the trees stand so still How's it so that you fall back Forever mine, there's time for that Snow falling up, behold Crossing winds will load Slabs of snow and soul Slabs of snow and soul Time stands still and runs at the same time Oceans move in sync with the sky How could you tell time from the wind When everyone else tells time from the sun Snow falling up, behold Crossing winds will load Slabs of snow and soul Slabs of snow and soul I'll be gone Watch me I'll be gone, with the birds that flee I'll be making tracks in the mountain snow Leaving a mark, until the next storm Leaving a mark, until the next storm

And I found you sitting down on the docks in the bay You were singing that song that you loved if it were only yesterday So tie those sails back on, for the wind's about to change And I'll be travelling through the dusk ,'til dawn takes me there Watching the grey skies clear I'll be watching the grey skies clear And for, let it be known, I don't know you at all And oh it ain't so swell, I don't know you at all And the nightime breeze it blows like it should I'd sit and watch the tide all night if I could And sometimes its just true That the road it is riddled with lies And I told those old wives tales as they were Quiet and sad they heard They were quiet and sad, we heard And for, let it be known, I don't know you at all And oh it ain't so swell, I don't know you at all And for, let it be known, I don't know you at all And oh it ain't so swell, I don't know you atll

And I taught you how to two-step on a cold December night In the kitchen and the dogs were barking And the snow was coming down as you shuffled your feet And I told you not to look down And I'll sing a song for you not because I want to But because I said I would And I'm one for my word, two for a song, three for a broken heart And we walked down to the dock, the black ocean below And the salty breeze it blows Hand in hand, stars above, oh how was I to know And I'll sing a song for you, not because I want to But because I said I would And I'm one for my word, two for a song, three for a broken heart And these are the days gone by You didn't even bother to try These are they days gone by Won't you come back soon And these were the days gone by You didn't even bother to try These were the days gone by Won't you come back soon

Take the road less travelled, take it nice and slow I'll sing a song for you love, I'll sing it as we go And the creeks are flowing northbound But the winds are blowing south I'll sing a song for you, love I'll sing it like the truth And hurry the dogs and wait for haste to find that time of day And wintery breeze, and all of the things you said, we were at ease Take the road less travelled Take it nice and slow I'll sing a song for you love, I'll sing it as we go And the creeks are flowing northbound But the winds are blowing south I'll sing a song for you, love I'll sing it like truth For all of the days when time takes a stand and stills for the quiet dawn Telling of tales and listening for the cues, knowing they'll be gone Take the road less travelled, take it nice and slow I'll sing a song for you, love I'll sing it as we go And the creeks are flowing northbound But the winds are blowing south I'll sing a song for you, love I'll sing it like the truth

You had a daughter, and you bought a home I saw your mother, in my dreaming of late Her smile broad, her perfume faint Wearing a gown, sitting at the white clothed table of your brother's wedding I let go of talking to you, my sweet I'll be waltzing on my own time I let go of talking to you, my sweet I'll be waltzing on my own time The times are different now Ghosted footsteps walking inside these four red walls I said I wished that this would happen to you But now I take it back I let go of talking to you, my sweet I'll be waltzing on my own time I let go of talking to you, my sweet I'll be waltzing on my own time You paid me a visit in my dreams last night You wished you had all the things that I have And so it went, back and forth Until I left And you stood there with a tear in your eye I stood there and watched you cry And you stood there with a tear in your eye I stood there and watched you cry

about

This is a loving collection of raw and personal songs written throughout the years, capturing both the subtleties and strength of emotions and wonder, disguised in poetry and melodies. This collection was inspired by slow mornings, hearts that meet in the middle, moonscapes, and fierce, fiery dreams.

These songs were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jim Holland at Green Needle Records (Whitehorse, Yukon) in the summer of 2020.

A special thanks to Kathleen McDade for lending her beautiful guitar for these recordings.

All songs were written and performed by Ellorie McKnight (SOCAN).

Album photography by Emeraude Dallaire.

These recordings were made possible thanks to the Yukon Government Sound Recording Fund.
